Students of Lyceum Agiou Neofytou present Heritage Weave enterprise in Fyti
On Saturday, students from Lyceum Agiou Neofytou introduced their business project, Heritage Weave, to the community of Fyti in the Paphos district. This initiative was developed under the Junior Achievement Cyprus Student Enterprise program, which encourages the development of entrepreneurial skills through innovation. The enterprise produces handmade fashion items, including bags and jewelry, that incorporate traditional Fytiotika weaving patterns. Both students and teachers collaborated to merge contemporary aesthetics with Cypriot cultural heritage to create sustainable and authentic products. The project seeks to highlight the value of local traditions while meeting the demands of the modern market through creative design. By redefining folk art, the students aim to demonstrate that tradition can serve as a source of innovation for the younger generation. The presentation served as a practical showcase of how cultural preservation and entrepreneurship can bridge the past with the present. The initiative emphasizes responsible production and the importance of maintaining cultural identity in business.
