Authorities arrest two individuals in separate domestic violence incidents in Ilia and North Evia

Greek authorities responded to two separate cases of domestic violence in Ilia and North Evia recently. In the community of Kato Panagia, Andravida-Kyllini, a woman was arrested on the evening of Friday, February 13, after allegedly stabbing her partner in the shoulder with scissors during a dispute. The victim received first aid at the Gastouni Health Center and filed a formal complaint, leading to the woman's referral to the Amaliada court for domestic bodily harm and weapon use. Separately, in North Evia, a 42-year-old police officer was arrested for allegedly attacking his wife during a family celebration on a Thursday. The incident reportedly occurred in front of the couple's two minor children following a verbal argument. Although a case file for domestic violence was established, the officer was released by oral order of the prosecutor pending a scheduled court date. Both cases highlight an immediate response by local law enforcement to domestic abuse allegations across different regions.
