Limassol Carnival celebrations begin with traditional event at Lemesos Newspaper

The annual "First Foukou" event took place at the offices of Efimerida Lemesos, marking the official start of the city's carnival festivities. The gathering was attended by various political and social figures, including Limassol Member of Parliament Costas Costas. Costas, a frequent attendee of the event, expressed his gratitude to the newspaper's director, Sakis Stylianou, for the invitation and shared well-wishes for the season. Additionally, Angeliki Rialas, a candidate for Member of Parliament with the Democratic Rally (DISY), was also present at the ceremony. Rialas publicly noted that the lighting of the first grill signaled the commencement of the carnival period. Sakis Stylianou, director of Lemesos Media Group, responded to the attendees with messages of health and prosperity for the coming year. This traditional event serves as a precursor to the wider Tsiknopempti celebrations across the city.
