Father kills two sons and self in Brazil following reports of wife's infidelity

A 40-year-old man identified as Thales Machado killed his two sons and then committed suicide in the state of Goias, Brazil. The victims were identified as 12-year-old Miguel and 8-year-old Benicio. Machado reportedly suspected his wife, Sara Araujo, of infidelity and hired a private detective to monitor her movements. After receiving photographic and video evidence of her with another man in a restaurant, he returned home armed with a firearm. He shot both children before turning the gun on himself. Although both children were rushed to nearby hospitals, they eventually succumbed to their injuries. Sara Araujo is the daughter of the mayor of the city of Itumbiara. Only hours before the crime, Machado had posted a photo on social media expressing his love for his children. Local authorities are continuing to investigate the specific circumstances surrounding the domestic tragedy.
