Limassol Municipality presents participatory design results for affordable housing

The Municipality of Limassol presented the outcomes of its participatory design workshops for a new social housing project. These workshops were part of the New European Bauhaus initiative, aimed at co-designing a model building and public space on Agias Sofias Street. During the first phase, citizens, stakeholders, and experts collaborated to identify realistic solutions with social impact. The process involved creating five distinct user profiles representing various ages and sensitivities to ensure the project meets diverse needs. Limassol Mayor Yiannis Armeftis emphasized that the city should serve as an example of planning for people by people. The collected data will define the technical specifications for an upcoming architectural competition for the affordable housing complex. This initiative marks the beginning of a renewed social policy for the municipality. The project focuses on creating a modern residential structure where tenants' specific requirements are addressed individually.
