Manchester City reaches verbal agreement for Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson
Manchester City has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with the representative of Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson for a transfer in the upcoming summer window. Manager Pep Guardiola requested the 22-year-old English international to bolster the team's midfield after being impressed by his performances this season. The agreement was reportedly facilitated by Manchester City's Sporting Director, Hugo Viana, during talks with the player's agent. While the player is interested in the move, the two clubs have yet to agree on a valuation for the transfer. Nottingham Forest is reportedly demanding £120 million to release the player, who remains under contract until 2029. In contrast, Manchester City is prepared to offer approximately €80 million for the deal. Anderson previously joined Nottingham Forest from Newcastle United in the summer of 2024 for a fee of €35 million. Formal negotiations between the clubs are expected to begin once the current football season concludes.
