ERB Asfalistiki and Labor Department launch 2026 workplace safety lecture series in Nicosia

On February 11, 2026, ERB Asfalistiki, the Department of Labour Inspection of the Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance, and the Cyprus Safety and Health Association launched a new series of lectures on workplace health and safety. This initiative marks the fifth consecutive year of strategic cooperation between the three organizations. The inaugural event took place at the amphitheater of the ERB Cyprus Insurance Holdings headquarters in Nicosia. The primary topic of the first lecture was the safe use of electricity in the workplace. Presentations were delivered by Eleftheria Sofroniou, an electrical engineer from the Department of Electrical and Mechanical Services, and Thomas Mitas, an electrical engineer and adult trainer. The lecture was attended by professionals from the occupational health and safety sector. The ongoing program aims to foster a culture of accident prevention and improve the overall work environment. These sessions are intended to raise public awareness regarding occupational hazards throughout 2026.
