Cyprus Sambo Federation hosts international events and announces 2026 World Veterans Championships

The Cyprus Sambo Federation has commenced its 2026 sporting calendar with several international events in Larnaca. An international tournament was held on February 7 and 8, followed by a specialized referee seminar and a training camp. The referee seminar featured 12 participants from Cyprus and abroad and was led by Ivan Netov, the Bulgarian President of the European Refereeing Commission. In addition, an international training camp took place at the Larnaca Municipal Social Welfare Center with over 100 athletes representing Cyprus, Israel, and Ukraine. The camp provided a structured environment for high-level competition preparation under professional coaching. Looking forward, the federation announced that Cyprus will host the World Veterans Sambo Championships in early December 2026. These initiatives are intended to promote the sport and support local sports tourism. The successful execution of these events marks a significant step for the federation on the international stage.
