Lemesos Volleyball competes in MEVZA Club Junior Championship in Croatia

Lemesos Volleyball's junior women's team represented Cyprus at the MEVZA Club Junior Championship in Zadar, Croatia, from February 12 to 15, 2026. Under coach Charalambos Zorpis, the team faced competition from clubs in Croatia, Hungary, Austria, and Israel. On the opening day, the team recorded two losses against Cro Team (3-2) and SG Union Bisamberg Hollabrun (3-0). On February 13, following a 3-0 loss to Ujpest Torna Egylet, Lemesos achieved a 3-1 comeback victory over VC Ramat Aviv, finishing fourth in Group C. On February 14, the team secured another 3-1 win against Maccabi Hadera before losing 3-0 to Bekescsabai in classification matches. Individual statistics highlighted Maria Markari as the second-highest scorer with 108 points and Vasiliki Laspou as the top server with 21 aces. The tournament included participation from top regional clubs and was broadcast live on the Croatian Volleyball Federation's YouTube channel. The delegation had departed from Cyprus on February 11 to prepare for the four-day event.
