Fifty-year-old woman arrested in France after discovery of two infants in freezer

A 50-year-old woman was arrested in the Paris region on suspicion of double infanticide after two dead infants were discovered in a freezer at a residence in Aillevillers-et-Lyaumont, Haute-Saone. The discovery occurred on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, when a family member—identified by some sources as the woman's partner—found one newborn while tidying a freezer the woman exclusively used. Police subsequently located a second infant wrapped in a bag in the same unit. The suspect, a mother of nine children from three different relationships, had abruptly abandoned her home and four of her children in December. During interrogation by the Besancon prosecutor, Cedric Logelin, the woman confessed to placing the newborns in the freezer immediately after giving birth alone at home between 2011 and 2018. She explained that she hid her pregnancies from her family by wearing loose clothing and making excuses for her weight gain.
