Bicommunal educational program Imagine to resume in Cyprus

The bicommunal educational program "Imagine" is set to resume in the coming days within the Turkish Cypriot community. Sources from the Cyprus News Agency (CNA) confirmed that the initiative is being integrated into official Confidence Building Measures (CBMs). Reports from the Turkish Cypriot website Kibris Postasi indicate that technical preparations and infrastructure work are currently underway. The program, which facilitates contact and cooperation between students from both the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot communities, had been suspended during the tenure of Ersin Tatar. Current developments follow the leadership involvement of Tufan Erhurman, who has reportedly shown personal interest in the matter. This move is associated with a package of ten proposals submitted by Erhurman to the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides. One specific proposal mentioned alongside the program is the organization of a U14 football tournament to foster peace. The official restart is expected once relevant committees finalize the necessary administrative procedures.
