PASP calls on Cyprus Football Association to follow UEFA model of player representation

In a milestone event for European football unions, FIFPRO Europe President David Terrier participated with voting rights in a UEFA Executive Committee meeting for the first time. This development is the result of a Memorandum of Understanding signed on October 29, 2024, between FIFPRO Europe and UEFA, aimed at ensuring institutional player representation. Previously, the president had participated as an observer starting in May 2024. Following this precedent, the Pancyprian Footballers Association (PASP) issued a statement urging the Cyprus Football Association (KOP) to grant players a similar voice in decision-making. PASP emphasizes that dialogue and cooperation are essential for a modern and fair sport. Notably, PASP President and FIFPRO Europe Vice President Spyros Neofitidis already serves as a member of the UEFA Football Committee. The union argues that athletes must be present in the centers where crucial decisions regarding the future of the sport are made.
