On February 13, 2026, the APOEL water polo team secured its first victory in a European competition during the LEN Challenger Cup in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The Cypriot champions defeated the West London Penguins 9-8 in an evening match. Earlier that morning, APOEL drew 11-11 with the Welsh Wanderers but lost 21-20 following a penalty shootout. These results earned the team a total of four points on the first day of the ranking tournament for positions 13 to 18. The competition continues with matches against Clube Naval Povoense and Hapoel Palram Zvulun on Saturday. The final fixture is scheduled for Sunday against Ljubljana Slovan.
