Ukraine strikes Russian refineries and factories as Lviv faces missile attacks
Ukrainian forces launched a series of drone and missile strikes against Russian industrial and military infrastructure in several regions. In the Komi Republic, Governor Rostislav Goldstein reported a fire at a Lukoil refinery following a drone attack, though no injuries were recorded. The Ukrainian General Staff confirmed another drone strike on a Lukoil refinery in Volgograd and a missile attack on a local arsenal using Flamingo missiles. Additionally, a high-tech factory in the Tambov region that produces aviation and missile components was targeted, resulting in a reported fire. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy justified these actions by stating that Russian energy facilities are legitimate targets following persistent Russian attacks on Ukrainian power grids. Simultaneously, Russian forces conducted missile strikes on the western city of Lviv, located near the Polish border, prompting the activation of air defense systems. Mayor Andriy Sadovyi noted that daytime attacks on the city have become more frequent recently. Reports from Kyiv and Odesa also indicated casualties following separate Russian strikes in those regions.
