Medochemie wins Gold Medal for Environment at 2025 Pancyprian Awards
The pharmaceutical company Medochemie was awarded the Gold Medal for Environmental Policies and Actions at the 2025 Pancyprian Environmental Awards for Organisations and Businesses. Organized by the Cyprus Center for Environmental Research and Education (CYCERE) and the Office of the Commissioner for the Environment, this marks the seventh consecutive year the company has received this honor. A primary factor for the award was the implementation of the LIFE Pharma Detox project, an innovative pharmaceutical waste treatment system. This project is a collaboration with Aarhus University, NEVIS – Novel Environmental Solutions S.A., the National Technical University of Athens, and the University of Catania. Medochemie's other environmental initiatives include the installation of composters, PMD recycling baskets in schools, beach clean-ups, and the use of specialized plastic collection units on coasts. The company also conducts systematic tree planting to support local ecosystems. Notably, as of October 1, 2025, all Medochemie manufacturing plants in Cyprus transitioned to using 100% renewable electricity sources.
