Milan Trajkovic qualifies for World Indoor Athletics Championships
On February 11, 2026, Milan Trajkovic became the first Cypriot athlete to secure qualification for the 2026 World Indoor Athletics Championships. The global tournament is scheduled to take place in Torun, Poland, from March 20 to 22, 2026. Trajkovic achieved the necessary qualification standard during a "gold" status indoor meeting held in his birthplace, Belgrade, Serbia. Competing in the 60-meter hurdles final, he finished in sixth place with a recorded time of 7.64 seconds. This performance successfully met the direct qualification limit, which was set at 7.65 seconds. Trajkovic is coached by Antonis Giannoulakis and previously held the title of European Indoor Champion in 2019. His successful run marks the first entry for Cyprus in the upcoming world championships. This result confirms his readiness for the international indoor season following a competitive race against a strong field.
