Stefanos Tsitsipas eliminated by Botic van de Zandschulp in Rotterdam after opening win
Stefanos Tsitsipas' run at the ABN AMRO Open in Rotterdam ended in the round of 16 following a loss to Botic van de Zandschulp. The Dutch player, ranked 65th in the world, secured a 2-0 set victory with scores of 6-4 and 7-6. Previously, Tsitsipas had advanced to the second round by defeating France's Arthur Rinderknech 7-5, 6-3 in a match lasting 81 minutes. In the contest against Van de Zandschulp, the Greek athlete initially led with an early break in the second game, but his opponent equalized and eventually took the first set by breaking at 5-4. The second set proceeded to a tie-break after Tsitsipas successfully saved two break points during the ninth game. Despite leading 4-2 in the tie-break, Tsitsipas conceded five consecutive points, allowing Van de Zandschulp to progress to the quarterfinals. This result marks the end of the Greek champion's participation in the ATP 500 event.
