Bank of Cyprus Nicosia Marathon holds thanksgiving event for volunteers

On the evening of February 10, 2026, a thanksgiving event was held in Nicosia to honor the volunteers and contributors of the Bank of Cyprus Nicosia Marathon. This year's marathon took place on January 18 and attracted more than 8,000 participants from across the globe. During the ceremony, Nicosia Mayor Charalambos Proutzos stated the city’s objective is to upgrade the event into a permanent annual landmark. Elli Ioannidou, representing Bank of Cyprus, confirmed the bank will continue its role as the named sponsor. Spyros Spyrou of Eleven Blue Events provided a review of the marathon and emphasized the goal of long-term growth for the city. The Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society served as the official charitable organization for the race. Fotini Pallikaridou represented the association, highlighting its mission to support patients through collective societal efforts. The event concluded with expressions of gratitude to all groups involved in the race's success.
