Jewelry thief in Kayseri, Turkey arrested after fleeing on a donkey
On February 10, 2026, a 26-year-old suspect identified as M.Ç. broke into a jewelry store in Kayseri, Turkey. The perpetrator used a forklift to smash the storefront and gain entry to the premises. He stole approximately 150 grams of gold jewelry before fleeing the scene. In a highly unusual escape, security footage captured the man riding a donkey through the city streets at night. Local police tracked the suspect using CCTV footage and made an arrest a few hours after the incident. Authorities recovered the stolen items, which the suspect had buried in a nearby plot of land. The gold was subsequently returned to the store owner following the identification of the suspect. The footage of the escape has since gained significant attention on social media.
