Cyprus police conducted organized patrols in urban areas on Monday night to prevent crime and maintain public order. Reports on the results vary, with one source citing two arrests in Limassol and Famagusta for threats and domestic violence, while others report two arrests for identification purposes and drug test refusal. A separate police announcement stated that seven individuals were arrested for offenses including grievous bodily harm, illegal residence, and drug possession. The number of people checked ranged between 297 and 565 across different reports. Traffic enforcement resulted in between 64 and 176 citations, with speeding being the most common violation. Police also inspected approximately 25 to 29 premises during the operations. Depending on the report, between three and nine vehicles were detained for various infractions.
