Police arrests in Nicosia and Paphos for car theft, burglary, and drug possession
Cyprus police reported two separate incidents involving car thefts and arrests in Paphos and Nicosia. In Nicosia, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (TAE) conducted a coordinated operation on February 11, 2026, resulting in the arrest of two men aged 32 and 34. The suspects were located inside a vehicle that had been reported stolen on February 6, 2026. Additionally, police discovered a small quantity of illegal drugs in their possession. In a separate case in Paphos, a 27-year-old man was apprehended on Tuesday around 11:30 am following a report of a residential burglary. After searching the suspect's apartment, police located keys belonging to a stolen car, which was found parked in the vicinity of the building. Investigation revealed the vehicle was owned by a 36-year-old woman whose house had been broken into. Both investigations remain ongoing, with the Pegeia Police Station handling the Paphos case.
