CAPO distributes €41.3 million in area-based subsidies to Cypriot farmers
The Cyprus Agricultural Payments Organization (CAPO) announced that it has paid out €41,300,960 in area-based subsidies for the 2025 application year. Of the 27,398 total applications received, 26,156 have been fully processed and paid. This represents over 98.5% of the applications where required checks have been completed. An additional 800 applications are currently being finalized, with payments expected by the end of the current week. CAPO is legally required to distribute these funds between December 1st and June 30th of the following year, provided all eligibility criteria are met. The organization noted that processing for the remaining applications is ongoing, as is standard procedure annually. These payments are distributed according to both European and national legal frameworks to ensure valid and timely delivery. The total amount paid is expected to increase further once the pending batch of 800 applications is processed.
