Manchester United fan's hair-cutting challenge continues after draw with West Ham
Frank Ailett, a Manchester United supporter known as "The United Strand," has spent nearly 500 days without a haircut as part of a challenge to see his team win five consecutive matches. The "no win, no trim" streak began on October 5, 2024, during the tenure of former manager Erik ten Hag. Following four straight wins under caretaker manager Michael Carrick, Manchester United faced West Ham on Tuesday with the streak on the line. The match ended in a 1-1 draw, with Tomas Soucek scoring for West Ham in the 49th minute and Benjamin equalizing for United in the 96th minute. As the team failed to secure the required fifth victory, Ailett’s challenge remains active. Ailett has gained between 1.3 and 2.3 million followers across social media and plans to donate his hair to the Little Princess Trust. Despite his online fame, he has faced issues including a physical assault at Old Trafford and has denied rumors of becoming a millionaire from the stunt.
