Swedish woman files lawsuit in Paris after identifying alleged rapist in Epstein files

Ebba Karlsson, a 56-year-old Swedish national, has filed a criminal complaint in Paris against a man identified as Daniel S. for alleged rape and human trafficking. The incident reportedly occurred in the 1990s in Cannes, France, where Karlsson claims she was raped in a swimming pool after being promised a modeling career. She identifies Daniel S. as the individual who brought her to Monaco and then France before introducing her to Gérald Marie, the former director of Elite model agency. Karlsson previously sued Marie in 2020, but that case was dismissed due to the statute of limitations. She claims she was only able to identify her alleged attacker recently through photographs released by the U.S. Department of Justice in the Jeffrey Epstein files. Her partner, who had also met the man, reportedly confirmed the identification. The lawsuit aims to initiate a formal investigation into the decades-old allegations and the suspect's connection to the Epstein network.
