International operation for e-cigarettes – What they found in Cyprus

The UN International Narcotics Control Board organized operation "eVAPER8" to detect synthetic drugs in e-cigarette liquids. In Cyprus, authorities conducted searches at premises in Nicosia, Paphos, and the Famagusta area, uncovering large quantities of illegal substances. Laboratory tests confirmed that all examined samples contained banned narcotics or new psychoactive synthetic substances, some of which are highly dangerous. Hundreds of products containing cannabis, THC, and unlicensed CBD were seized for violating pharmaceutical and food safety laws. Most of the confiscated items originated from Greece and other European countries, often targeting younger users. Authorities have raised the alarm regarding the consumption of these products, especially following recent reports of students fainting in schools.
