Customs officers seize untaxed cigarettes and illicit dairy at Agios Dometios

Customs officials at the Agios Dometios crossing point intercepted a Romanian national transporting contraband from the occupied areas. During a vehicle search, officers discovered 5,400 untaxed cigarettes that lacked the required health warnings. Additionally, authorities found 25 litres of kefir, which violates regulations prohibiting the transport of animal products across the Green Line. The driver was arrested, and both the illegal goods and the vehicle were confiscated by the authorities. Following an out-of-court settlement, the suspect was released after paying a total of €2,000 in fines and fees.
