Miriam McConnon: When domestic objects narrate time and memory
Blue Iris Gallery recently launched "Aspects of Time," a retrospective exhibition of Irish artist Miriam McConnon. The exhibition showcases a decade of work that transforms humble, everyday objects into symbols of memory and loss. McConnon explores personal stories and the human need for belonging through domestic items such as plates and cups. Her art also addresses themes of displacement and gender restrictions through items like ties and wedding dresses. Based in Cyprus for over two decades, the artist has represented both Ireland and Cyprus in prestigious international biennials. The exhibition will remain open to the public until February 21, highlighting the role of objects in shaping identity.
