Germany: One in two in favor of providing more aid to Ukraine

A recent poll indicates that a majority of Germans support providing increased aid to Ukraine to bolster its defense against the Russian invasion. Approximately 52% of respondents believe the West should offer more support if Russia refuses to agree to a ceasefire and peace negotiations. Specifically, 28% of those surveyed favor providing both military and financial assistance to the Ukrainian government. In contrast, 35% of participants believe that Germany should cease its support for Ukraine entirely. The survey also revealed that 54% of Germans fear a potential Russian attack on NATO member states, such as Poland or Lithuania. Despite these concerns, the fear of the war expanding has decreased by eight percentage points compared to previous survey periods.
