Tragedy in the USA: Four dead from poisonous mushrooms in California
Four individuals lost their lives in California after consuming the highly toxic mushroom known as the "death cap." Health authorities attributed the proliferation of these mushrooms to an unusually rainy winter season. Since November 18, over 36 cases of poisoning have been recorded, with several patients requiring urgent liver transplants. The "death cap" contains dangerous amatoxins responsible for approximately 90% of fatal mushroom poisonings worldwide. Experts warn that initial symptoms like nausea and cramps may temporarily subside before severe liver failure occurs. The public is strongly advised to avoid foraging for wild mushrooms due to the high risk of misidentification.
