Poetic action by the Library of Saint Neophytos Lyceum in Paphos

The Library Committee of Saint Neophytos Lyceum organized a poetic event titled "Words of Freedom: Solomos in our Library." This initiative commemorated the 200th anniversary of the publication of the "Hymn to Liberty." Students participated by reciting verses from the national poet Dionysios Solomos and exploring his literary works. A dedicated display board was also created featuring fundamental values such as freedom, equality, and social justice. The event highlighted the significance of the hymn as the National Anthem of Cyprus since 1966. Overall, the action aimed to help students engage with timeless messages while strengthening their cultural and national identity.
