Two people arrested for stealing jewelry while posing as EAC technicians

Police arrested two men, aged 49 and 25, in connection with a theft case in the Nicosia district. The suspects allegedly defrauded a resident by posing as technicians from the Electricity Authority of Cyprus. They convinced the victim that his jewelry could interfere with a voltage measurement and instructed him to leave it in a bowl outside. Once the resident followed the instructions and went back inside, the perpetrators stole the items and fled. Following an investigation, the police identified the suspects and obtained judicial warrants for their arrest. The Nicosia District Court has ordered their detention for eight days while investigations continue.
