Clashes and Molotov cocktails outside AUTH, 309 people detained

Serious clashes occurred early in the morning outside the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, involving the throwing of Molotov cocktails at police forces. A total of 309 individuals were detained by the police, although none of these detentions have been converted into arrests yet. One police officer sustained burn injuries during the incidents and was transported to the 424 Military Hospital. Significant damage was reported to three parked private vehicles and trash bins located on 3rd September Avenue. The attacks were carried out by groups of people who emerged from the university grounds between 02:00 and 02:30 AM. Following the clashes, municipal cleaning crews worked to clear the surrounding streets, including Egnatia Street, to restore traffic flow.
