Eventful transfer of a prisoner to Larnaca General Hospital – He attacked a police officer

The transfer of a detainee to Larnaca General Hospital for medical examinations resulted in an injury to a police officer. The individual involved is a 27-year-old held at the Menogeia migrant detention center who was transported for medical check-ups on Friday. Once the examinations were completed, the prisoner reacted violently as the officer attempted to re-apply handcuffs. The detainee reportedly headbutted the officer in the face, causing a laceration to the eyebrow and additional injuries to the hands. Other officers at the scene were forced to intervene and use appropriate force to regain control and secure the suspect. Following the incident, the 27-year-old was returned to his detention center while the Larnaca Misdemeanor Department continues its investigation.
