Feast day February 7: To whom to say happy birthday today - The "misunderstood" name

On February 7th, the Orthodox Church honors the memory of Saint Parthenios, Bishop of Lampsacus, and Saint Luke. Saint Parthenios lived during the reign of Constantine the Great and was renowned for his deep piety and charitable work. Originally a fisherman, he donated all his earnings to the poor, treating everyone as his brother and equal. Because of his virtuous life, he was ordained Bishop of Lampsacus and was gifted with the divine power of performing miracles. He is especially known for healing various diseases, including cancer, and for casting out demons through prayer. Today, the names celebrating their feast include Parthenios, Parthenopi, Loukas, and Loukia.
