Planning permit issued for the creation of Paralimni square

The Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia has officially received the planning permit from the Famagusta District Local Government Organization for the construction of a new central square. This urban regeneration project, estimated to cost €5 million, aims to transform the historic center into a functional and modern landmark. The design features an event space for up to 3,500 people, a park, monuments, and extensive greenery with a focus on full accessibility. Architecturally, the square will highlight three local churches and introduce water elements to symbolically link the area with the nearby lake and sea. This initiative is part of a broader urban plan to improve the quality of life for residents and enhance the visitor experience. The project application was processed efficiently between November 2025 and February 2026.
