Bank employees denounce ETYK for unbearable pressure - Demand Mousiouttas' intervention
A group of fifty employees from the Bank of Cyprus, Eurobank, and Alpha Bank has formally requested the intervention of the Minister of Labor to protect their democratic rights. The employees allege they are facing unbearable pressure from the ETYK union to join its ranks and are questioning the legality of such tactics. They also accuse bank management of unilaterally terminating existing agreements and changing employment contracts without the consent of the workers. Significant concerns were raised regarding the management of provident and health funds, specifically about contributions being made to union-managed funds without employee approval. The group expressed particular apprehension regarding the influence of a single individual over the provident fund's decisions and future performance. The formal complaint has been forwarded to various regulators, including the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection, to address potential violations.
