Anna Aristotelous requests appointment of independent criminal investigators for Katsounotos and two others

Christos Triantafyllides, lawyer for former Prisons Director Anna Aristotelous, has formally requested the appointment of independent criminal investigators. The request, addressed to the Attorney General, concerns potential criminal offenses by Michalis Katsounotos, Maria Siaili, and Harris Herodotou. The lawyer cited various pieces of evidence, including previous reports, findings from the Anti-Corruption Authority, and social media material. Additionally, the defense team is calling for the immediate suspension of these individuals while the investigation is ongoing. They argue that the high rank of the individuals involved makes an internal police investigation objectively impossible and potentially biased. The letter has also been forwarded to the President of the Republic and the Minister of Justice for consideration.
