Cyprus aims to boost winter tourism following discussions with Israeli officials

Deputy Tourism Minister Kostas Koumis visited Israel to discuss strategies for increasing visitor numbers during the off-peak winter months. During the IMTM tourism fair, he met with Israeli Tourism Minister Haim Katz and various industry stakeholders to strengthen bilateral ties. Israel has emerged as the second-largest market for Cyprus, with a record-breaking 588,000 arrivals recorded in 2025. Statistical data shows a significant increase in both the volume of visitors and their average spending per visit compared to previous years. The talks also focused on promoting special-interest tourism to diversify the holiday offerings available to international travelers. In addition to official meetings, Koumis engaged with religious leaders and prominent media outlets to promote the island's tourism brand.
