Residents with long-term caravans and permanent structures at the Platani camping site have not yet vacated despite an eviction notice issued in November, delaying planned upgrades. The Forestry Department has granted a second extension until the end of February for the removal of these caravans. This delay jeopardizes the operation of the campsite for the upcoming summer season. The Audit Service highlighted this issue in a report, noting the unauthorized structures and lack of entry fee collection. The Forestry Department plans to suspend operations for renovations and is drafting regulations for campsite management.
